It’s been a busy few weeks here at Dairypower that have seen us touring around the UK showcasing our products at various agricultural shows!

We started off at Devon County in May and went from there to the National Beef Association’s Beef Expo in Cumbria!  After a short breather, we were on the road again for the Staffordshire County Show which saw over 70,000 visitors.  From there it was off to Wadebridge for the Royal Cornwall Show which took place from the 6th – 8th June and the following week saw us setting up our stand for the Royal Three Counties Show in Malvern.

Our final show of June took us to Edinburgh for this year’s Royal Highland Show, which is one of Scotland’s most iconic events, showcasing the very best of farming food and rural life. A great day out was had by all ages, with the chance to get up close to the country’s top quality livestock, taste exceptional food & drink and experience rural living at its most vibrant!

The next few weeks will see us concentrating on some large installations around Europe but we’ll be back on the show circuit again in August with the following events booked in:

Summer Agricultural Show

It’s been a busy start to the year here at Dairypower and we’ve found ourselves travelling all around Ireland, the UK and Europe working on installations of our Smart Slurry scraper and slurry aeration systems.  We started off with a trip to snowy Slovakia in January to install a scaper system, followed by a quick visit to some installations in Hungary!

From there we went to the UK where we exhibited at DairyTech 2019 and installed a new 16 manifold aeration system in Derbyshire.  It was back to Ireland then for installations in Offaly, West Cork, Wexford, Tipperary and finally a 12 manifold aeration system back in our home town of Blarney. On top of that, we were busy at HQ packing up systems for installations in England, Wales and Norway!

On Wednesday 7th March we visited a Dairypower Eco-Rope installation we made in November for Matthew Smith in Lower Castle Hayes, Staffordshire.

Matthew is milking a herd cross between Montbeliard and Holstein and decided to put up a new unit to house his cows for the winter.  After an intensive design / product research he decided on installing our Dairypower Eco-Clean Rope scraper system along with Easyfix Cubicles, Feed Alley Mats and Jupiter Cubicle Mats

Before the new building, the herd average was just above 38 litres a day and now due to the comfort of the new building, the yield average is up at 42 litres a day.

The scraper system is programmed to clean every 2 hours so the building and cubicles are always clean.  The Dairypower Hydraulic Rope Scraper is a unique system which incorporates a hydraulic motor and winch unit to clean barn alley ways.  It does not use an electric motor as traditionally used in Rope Scraper Systems, it instead uses a hydraulic motor which is driven with a hydraulic power pack, the same as used in our Ratchet Scraper System which has been tried and tested over the past 30+ years.

For further information on the Dairypower Rope Scraper System, please see our website or view the two short videos below.

Pat from Dairypower recently spend an enjoyable few days back in Switzerland visiting our dealer and touring some of their existing and new Dairypower Scraper Installations.

‘Old Style’ Headlock Barn

We visited three existing installations and were delighted to find they were running exceptionally well and performing as expected.  We also commissioned two new installations while there which featured our new digital control panel.  The digital control panel has many unique features such as frost protection, calving mode and cow down safety feature.

New Scraper Installation Commissioned in Grancy, Switzerland

Dairypower is the foremost European designer and manufacturer of Automatic Hydraulic Yard Scraper Systems. Our patented scraper system has many unique features that make it the safest and most trouble free system in the world. The Dairypower scraper system is hydraulically operated, which means fewer moveable parts and considerably less risk of breakdowns. Also see the Dairypower Hydraulic Rope Scraper System which incorporates a hydraulic motor and winch unit to clean barn alleyways.

For more information on any of the above systems see our website www.dairypower.com or call us on  IRE: +353214383100UK: +441772422292

All in all it was a great trip…and happily, much sunnier than our last visit!

Details of the new young farmer grants come under the Young Farmer Capital Investment Scheme, which is the first of the new Targeted Modernisation Schemes (TAMS II). The Minister for Agriculture, said the Scheme is very important – offering eligible young farmers a special rate of aid of 60% of investment costs, compared to the standard rate of 40% which will be generally available to other farmers. The total allocation for the various on farm investment schemes planned under TAMS II, including the Young Farmer Investment scheme, is €395m over the course of the programme. Ministers Coveney and Hayes announced today that an indicative allocation of €120m was being made available to young farmers under the terms of the new Scheme over the full RDP period. Further announcements in the coming weeks on the launch of the remaining TAMS Schemes, including the new Dairy Equipment Scheme which is also being prioritised for early opening. Details of the new young farmer grants come under the Young Farmer Capital Investment Scheme, which is the first of the new Targeted Modernisation Schemes (TAMS II).
